RIP We were very sad to hear of the death of Clement Loiseau a few days ago. He was a great character, and most faithful at Mass. It will seem strange for him not to be there, either at St.Felix or the Convent.

The Funeral Mass for Stephanie O'Mahoney is due to take place at St.Felix' on Wednesday, October 17th, at 12.30pm.

 

Mass for the Sick The next of the twice-yearly Masses for the Sick, with the administration of the Sacrament for the Sick (anointing) will be on Wednesday, October 16th, at 3.0pm.

 

Confirmation So far three teenagers have expressed interest in being Confirmed next year. If there are any others, please tell Fr.John as soon as possible.

 

Money Matters Last Sunday 524.91 was given at the Offertory and 88.91 to CAFOD. Today there will be a retiring collection for CAFOD, following the Family Fast Day on Friday.

 

The Stride and Ride Event Teresa, our Parish R&S Organizer writes 'We raised a total of 1022.00, a great achievement, half of which comes into our own parish funds. Seven members of the Parish took part - Fr.John, Sr.Lucy, Anna Mlodzianowska, Elizabth Utting,, Mark Sergeant, Barbara Lamberton, and Anne Poole. We are grateful to them, and to all who so generously sponsored them.'

 

Ipswich Hospital Fr.Adrian Gates has ceased to be hospital Chaplain ; he has moved to Cambridge to be Catholic Chaplain of Addenbrookes. This means that for the time being Ipswich Hospital is without an official Catholic Chaplain. The local priests are going to go in to look after their own people, and so do please let Fr.John know if any of our Felixstowe people are admitted.

 

C.W.L Reminder for members we will be meeting this Monday 8th October at the Spa Pavilion for Afternoon Tea 3.15pm for 3.30 pm.

 

Association of the Family of Jesus and Mary Our next meeting is on Friday 12th October 2.30pm at the Convent. Please note new time for Autumn/winter meetings. New members will be enrolled and we will have the latest news of RJM communities. All welcome.

 

Missio Red Box Charity Barbara writes 'There will be a thank you' Coffee Morning on Saturday 13th October 10am-12 noon for all Red Box holders, supporters and anyone who would like to take a box. It is FREE and cake is involved! I will change any boxes you have (October and April are the months for emptying boxes) and there will be a short film about the work of the A.P.F to show where your money goes. Do come.'

 

Day With Mary Philip Hills writes 'Come and experience a wonderful Spiritual and Uplifting Day with Our Lady. Saturday 20th October, starting at 10am. Bring and share lunch. See poster in porch for more details. If you cannot make the whole day, join us for whatever you can.'

 

Quiz Night Jenny writes 'Saturday 27th October in St Felix Hall 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets 7 which includes supper but please bring your own drinks. Teams should be a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6. Tickets will be available after Mass from 13th October or by contacting Jenny. All welcome at this popular annual event. Organised by Team Felix in aid of Parish funds.'

 

Wednesday Lunch Club Jenny writes 'our next lunch is 7th November at 12.30 pm. The menu is Chicken in Blankets, Apple Pie and Tea/Coffee, only 5. All welcome but you must pre-book by contacting Jenny. We look forward to seeing you.'

 

CAP Debt Management Programme Barbara writes ' If you did not see the programme on Friday 5th October BBC2 9pm you may be able to get it on i-player. An hour long programme about the Christians Against Poverty Debt Management

Program which is now operating in Felixstowe (see notice board at the back of the church.'
